Whistleblower tells Congress the US is concealing 'multi-decade' program that captures UFOs
The U.S. is concealing a longstanding program that retrieves and reverse engineers unidentified flying objects, a former Air Force intelligence officer testified Wednesday to Congress. The Pentagon has denied his claims. Retired Maj. David Grusch’s highly anticipated testimony before a House Oversight subcommittee was Congress’ latest foray into the world of UAPs — or “unidentified aerial phenomena,” which is the official term the U.S. government uses instead of UFOs. While the study of mysterious aircraft or objects often evokes talk of aliens and “little green men,” Democrats and Republicans in recent years have pushed for more research as a national security matter due to concerns that sightings observed by pilots may be tied to U.S. adversaries.

The U.S. House of Representatives held a hearing, titled "Understanding the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena", to investigate UFO sightings and their implications. The committee heard from various witnesses, including military pilots, and pledged to take the UFO phenomenon seriously. One notable testimony was from a former Marine, Michael Herrera, who recounted a 2009 incident in Indonesia where his unit witnessed a UFO. The event was corroborated by military sources but lacked photographic evidence. Amid increasing public interest, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) was scrutinizing the national media's coverage of the UFO phenomenon. Graves, a former fighter pilot, explained that after 2014, when "upgrades were made to our radar system, our squadron made a startling discovery: There were unknown objects in our airspace." And these were not "mere balloons," like the Chinese spy balloon that dominated the country’s attention in February.

UFOs and the Link to Ancient Indian Literature
In recent years, the Pentagon and NASA have acknowledged that UFOs (or UAPs, unidentified aerial phenomena, as they are currently called) — are real rather than being simply figments of science fiction enthusiasts’ imaginations. Luis Elizondo, who headed the Pentagon’s investigation into unexplained aerial phenomena, highlighted the unusual features of UFOs that he had gleaned from many years of probes into accounts of strange airborne objects seen by pilots and naval officers. We describe some of these below.

Washington and the media are abuzz with chatter of flying saucers and little green men, but a man who studies UFO sightings for a living says you shouldn't believe the hype. Any day now, the Pentagon in the U.S. is expected to deliver a report to Congress about its task force investigation into "unexplained aerial phenomena" — or as most people know them, unidentified flying objects (UFOs). But California's Mick West says people shouldn't expect any exciting news from the report. He analyzes UFO videos and says there's almost always a rational, mundane explanation for them. Here is part of his conversation with As It Happens host Carol Off.

Can This Navy Patent Explain Away Many Uap Sightings?
This new Navy tech aims to use lasers to fool air defense systems and missiles into thinking they see multiple aircraft or even a UAP for that matter–but the plan wasn’t to trick the world into thinking they were being visited by aliens. America uses stealth technology not just to avoid detection, but to avoid being shot down after they’ve been detected. A recent patent filed by the U.S. Navy meant to increase the survivability of stealth aircraft might do just that, but if the system works the way it’s supposed to, it could just as easily be used to project images into the sky that would look and act a whole lot like the strange crafts depicted in UAP footage released by the U.S. military in recent years.

Physicists Use Quantum Mechanics to Pull Energy out of Nothing
For their latest magic trick, physicists have done the quantum equivalent of conjuring energy out of thin air. It’s a feat that seems to fly in the face of physical law and common sense. “You can’t extract energy directly from the vacuum because there’s nothing there to give,” said William Unruh, a theoretical physicist at the University of British Columbia, describing the standard way of thinking. But 15 years ago, Masahiro Hotta, a theoretical physicist at Tohoku University in Japan, proposed that perhaps the vacuum could, in fact, be coaxed into giving something up.

On the night of May 19, 1986 in Brazil, air traffic controller SĂ©rgio Mota da Silva witnessed fighter jets intercepting UFOs traveling at speeds of up to 10,000 mph in the sky. He even managed to communicate with them using runway lights, and reported that they had "intelligent behavior". Hundreds of witnesses, including military personnel, saw the strange objects and several planes reported them, with one pilot noting that the object reached a speed of 11,500 mph.

As a Former Fighter Pilot Who Encountered Uap, We Need Science—not Stigmas and Conspiracies—to Solve This Mystery
A response to recent Op-Eds published by Holman Jenkins in the Wall Street Journal that have perpetuated conspiracy theories about UAP and attempted to undermine the eyewitness testimony of highly trained aviators. It discusses the fear of stigma that has long surrounded UAP, and the growing momentum for scientific research into the phenomena. The article also highlights public statements from numerous leaders and elected officials who agree that UAP incidents cannot be explained and require further research, as well as recent Congressional hearings and the passing of the 2023 NDAA with far-reaching UAP provisions. It emphasizes that encounters with UAP are an issue not exclusive to Americans, and calls for more attention to be paid to the issue as a matter of safety and national security, as well as an investment in science to answer critical questions.

How to Build a Working UFO
The US Military's Secret Flying Saucer Project | Alien Reproduction Vehicles (ARVs). In 1988, aerospace designer Brad Sorenson went to Norton Air Force base for the annual air show. The show was the chance for aerospace companies and military contractors to show off new technology to top military and government officials. Brad wanted to network and maybe grab a new client or two. At some point, Brad got turned around and separated from his group. He hopped into another group and ended up in a large hangar watching a presentation given by a three-star general. At first it was the typical rundown for various top secret aircraft. Brad figured he was in the right place. He wasn't. The general signalled to someone and a huge curtain was pulled, revealing three aircraft that nobody was expecting.

‘Several hundred’ UFO reports received by Pentagon’s new tracking office
The Pentagon's All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office has received "several hundred" reports of unidentified flying objects since 2021. There is no evidence yet of alien life, but the office is working to identify unknown objects and their potential security risks. It has established mechanisms to rule out US aircraft or drones, and is coordinating with the Pentagon and US intelligence community to get the signatures of US technology. Congress has held its first hearing in more than half a century on the topic.

Pentagon's UFO office reveals it's investigating 'several hundred' new reports of unidentified flying objects from service members in the last year - but is yet to find evidence of alien life
The Department of Defense has analyzed 'several hundred' UFO reports from its service members since last year and established an All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office to investigate anomalous, unidentified objects. The Under Secretary of Defense Ronald Moultrie revealed they had received reports from intelligence and military officers of unidentified objects in the air, underwater, and in space, and are cooperating with NASA to identify them. However, they have not seen any evidence to date of alien visitation or crash.

NSA Seems to Be Spying on UFOs
It appears that the NSA’s big ear is listening in on space aliens (or whatever those mysterious objects in the sky are), and the public deserves to know more about it. The Department of Defense has revealed that the U.S. government has set up a Joint Interagency Task Force to investigate Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP). This task force is so secretive that documents released regarding the investigation are all heavily redacted and have a highly classified status. The National Security Agency has also been involved in the investigation, leading to speculation that they may have intercepted communications from foreign militaries testing advanced drones or, possibly, alien spacecraft. It is important that Congress ask the NSA what they know about the UAP phenomenon, so that the public can learn more about the possible extraterrestrial or earthy origins of the mysterious objects in the sky.

A preliminary look at the UAP-related provisions of the final proposed FY 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (H.R. 7776)
The U.S. House of Representatives passed the NDAA-IAA on December 8, 2022, by a vote of 350-80. It contains two main UAP related provisions in three numbered sections, which are similar to those in earlier versions and have been refined by congressional negotiators. This bill will provide a secure method for authorized reporting and robust anti-reprisal protections for those bringing UAP-related information to the Pentagon UAP office and Congress. There are also revisions to existing "whistleblower" laws covering the Intelligence Community, and a historical study of involvement of the Intelligence Community in UAP matters, which will be conducted by the Pentagon UAP office. Final congressional approval and enactment are likely before the end of the year.

Research Claims There May Be up to 4 Quintillion Alien Spacecraft in Our Solar System
A new study has found that there could be as many as a quintillion alien spacecraft lurking in our solar system. The study, conducted by a team of astronomers from Penn State University, looked at the Drake Equation, which is used to estimate the number of intelligent civilizations in the Milky Way galaxy. The researchers found that there could be up to a quintillion intelligent civilizations in our galaxy alone, and each of them could have up to a trillion spacecraft. This means that there could be as many as a sextillion (10^21) alien spacecraft flying around the universe.

Unidentified aerial phenomena I. Observations of events
A recent study in Ukraine has revealed observations of unidentified aerial phenomena. The study, conducted by an independent group of researchers, looked at data from over 100 cases of sightings. The researchers found that the majority of the sightings could be explained by natural phenomena such as meteors or aircraft, but a small number of cases remained unexplained. These unexplained cases were characterized by strange movements and maneuvers that could not be accounted for by known objects. The study provides further evidence that there is still much to learn about the nature of these unidentified aerial phenomena.
